| How can I download and play your MP3 titles? |
To save an MP3 file from this
site to your computer, just right-click (or option-click on a Mac)
on the link for the title and select "Save target as..." or
"Save link as..." and save the MP3 file into a folder on your
computer. Once you have downloaded the MP3 files, you will need to make sure that you have
installed some type of software that is capable of playing MP3 content (we recommend Winamp)
If you would like to take these MP3 files with
you while you are away from the computer, you can purchase one of a variety of portable
MP3 players. Each player will come with software that will allow you to take MP3 files saved on your computer

| What is an MP3? |
MP3 is an abbreviation of "MPEG, layer 3." The acronym MPEG
stands for the "Motion Picture Experts Group," who developed
MP3 while working on the technology used to fit large amounts of information
on DVDs. Sound can easily be saved on a computer as digital information,
but the files are normally very large (this is typical of the content you find on a regular audio CD).
An MP3 file takes that information and compresses it so that it takes up less space but still sounds nearly
as good.

| What hurdles face MP3 audiobook downloads? |
| Besides securing our recordings from improper duplication, unabridged audiobooks in MP3 format still require large amounts of storage space. An average MP3 recording uses between 300 and 400 megabytes of space and as a result can take a consider amount of time to download via the Internet.
You may have noticed that the titles offered on this site have no rightsholder restrictions and are relatively short in length.! |
